Enthronement of our New Abbot - Geshe Jangchup Choeden

18th July, Saturday morning as usual did daily prayers and then had breakfast and prepared all things for have an audience with His Holiness. When we arrived to the reception of Private Office of His Holines is was almost 11.45am we waited there for long time and then we were let in through the security checkpoint and waited further more in the welfurnished waiting room inside Private Office Complex of His Holiness. Around 1.45pm lastly I was called in to meet His Holiness. It was great blessings immense reward to see His Holiness after waiting for that long. As soon as was in front of His Holiness I forgot all those long waiting and instead felt great sense of devotion and respect arising within. In fact I have seen and received blessings from His Holiness in great many variety of occassions but this was very special. I offered the symbol mandala and three kayas and the received blessings from him in a quiet, calm, very peaceful and quite sizeable office room. Then His Holiness advised me to sit on the matteress, it was great pleasure to sit in front of a Great Buddhis practitioner, master, leader and above all the propagator of world peace through religious harmony. His Holiness begin with asking about my teachers and parents and the conversation flowed like a peacefull and calm river and it almost lasted for half hour at the end of the conversation His Holiness told us come on lets take picture together. It was very special blessings to have this type of honor offered to take pictures taken with him. That was the end of our meeting with His Holiness, for this time hopefully, coz I look forward to have more audience with him in future.

Geshe Jangchup Choeden

Geshe Jangchup Choeden was appointed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, as New Abbot of Gaden Shartse Monastery in May 2009. On July Venerable left for Dharamsala for an auspicious audience with His Holiness.

I would like to thank you very much for your kindness, prayers and congratulations that I have been receiving since the news of my appointment as Abbot of Gaden Shartse Monastery spread out. I feel proud to be friend of each of you. I cherish your friendship and appreciate you for being great support throughout the time.

The enthronement ceremony is fixed on Sunday, 26th July at Gaden Shartse Monastery and I request you to remember me and pray for me on that day. The main ceremony will be around 6.00am - 8.00am Indian time, but there will be programs through out the day till evening.

I send my prayers and blessings to you on this special occasion of enthronement in Gaden Shartse Monastery. May you enjoy great health, happiness and prosperity.
